Children ages 1-12 are invited to join us for the
2009 Summer Reading Program
at the Crawfordsville Public Library
(There is a teen program as well)
Race Into Reading!
Program begins on Monday, June 1st
and goes through Friday, July 17th
(The final program will be on Saturday, July 18th)
Come get a race track card or a pit-crew badge,
keep track of the time you read,
and come back to the library to receive a prize!
Join us for Hot Wheels races, crafts, and story time!
A visit from an race car driver and much more!!
Elementary: Your goal is to read one hour for each lap up to lap 14 on your pit-crew badge. After you have read for two laps (two hours), have an adult sign your badge, bring your badge to the library, have the librarian punch your badge, and receive your earned prize! When you finish lap 14, you will earn a t-shirt and a book to take home!
Preschool and Younger: Your reading record is a race track that has been divided into seven parts. Each part has a set of symbols that represent the number of minutes spent reading or a parent reading to you. When you have completed one hour, bring your track to the library, have it signed by the librarian and receive your earned prize. When you have completed your track, (7 hours) you will earn a medal and a book to take home!
